A few useful answers before your first print.
What can I do for free?
Use the editor and previews without signing in. Sign in for three free print-kit exports. Each completed export uses one credit, unless you have unlimited access.
What does a print kit include?
A ZIP of digital files for your creation: STL parts, color 3MF files for supported creations, and a print guide. One kit may contain several parts and still costs one credit. STL files do not store colors; review color 3MF files in a compatible slicer. A physical print is not included.
Does changing the design use a credit?
No. Editing and previewing are free. Downloading a completed print kit uses a credit. An unchanged re-download from the same account within 24 hours is free; changed designs and downloads after that window can count again.
Who can convert a PNG?
Users with remaining qualifying purchased credits, an active Charm Lab subscription, or eligible paid Patreon access. Conversion itself spends no export credits. Free starter or reward credits do not qualify. Daily image and processing limits are shown in the converter.
How do the $5 and $10 memberships differ?
Founding Member is $5 per month for the first 150 paid Stripe Founding members, excluding Patreon. It includes unlimited exports. After enrollment closes, Maker is $5 per month for 100 exports per paid monthly billing period. Maker includes member PNG limits and standard AI support limits. It does not include premium Papel Picado downloads, AI photo cleanup, or the Patreon file library. Studio is $10 per month. Compare the currently enabled benefits and exact allowances on Pricing; while they match and founding enrollment is available, Founding Member offers the lower monthly price. Future extras are not available today and their timing and inclusion are not guaranteed. Canceling a founding membership permanently forfeits the spot; paid-through access continues. A $5 pack of 25 download credits is a separate one-time purchase.
When do allowances reset?
Maker exports reset each paid monthly billing period, with no rollover. Daily PNG conversion and AI support allowances reset at midnight UTC, not midnight Eastern or on a rolling 24-hour basis. Pricing shows the next reset in your local timezone. Ordinary design changes and live previews use no AI allowance or export credits. Papel Picado AI photo cleanup has a separate monthly allowance that resets on the first of the month in UTC.
What artwork works best?
Simple, flat-color shapes with clear boundaries. For SVGs, use filled shapes and convert text to paths. Photographs, gradients, low-resolution images, and tiny details may need cleanup. The PNG preview lets you compare the converted result before using it.
Can I sell my printed designs?
You may use your output commercially when you have the necessary rights to its artwork. Charm Lab does not grant permission to sell designs based on someone else’s characters, logos, or other protected work.
Does signing in save my work?
It saves your account and entitlements, not an online project library. Choose Save project in Artwork to download an editable .charm.json file with your SVG and settings, then use Open project to restore it later. Saving a project uses no export credits and does not include an STL. Browser-based recovery also helps with checkout, but can be cleared or lost.
How do Patreon members get access?
Use Continue with Patreon. If you already have a Google or email account here, sign in that way and connect Patreon in Account to keep the same credits and history. Paid La Conchita Bonita membership is checked for eligibility.
How do I get help?
Choose Support or Report issue in the editor. You can include artwork, settings, and a screenshot. Read replies in My support requests; email notifications are not currently enabled. For sign-in or billing problems, email charmlabsupport@proton.me.
